You’re missing the Answer to your specific Question ? Please send your Question to us – we will answer and add here.

Q: Are Koyboard Shortcuts supported for Q10 ?

A: Yes ! Conference2Go Apps support shortcuts – here are some of them listed:

  • <d> switches the day (Sessions, Workshops, Tracks, Special days) – <d> circles through the days
  • <f> sets / removes a session from favorites
  • <o> pushes the session overview on top
  • <s> displays the search field for speakers
  • <r> shows the room of a session
  • <e> opens Notebook entry to edit your notes

in session / wortkshop / tracks / special days – lists you also use default shortcuts like

  • <t> Goto top of list
  • <b> GoTo bottom of list
  • <n> shows next section of sessions
  • <p> shows previous section of sessions
  • <SPACE> one screen forward
  • <SHIFT SPACE> one screen back

have fun

Q: What is in the Overview page visible ?

A: t’s not easy to get the overview on a conference with many sessions, tracks, special days …

So we developed the Overview page – this page will always be created dynamically on-the-fly.

Vertical you see the timescale with markers every 30 minutes

Horizontally you see the columns for each room

Every session has exactly the height calculated from duration – so you easy see free slots

In the Top-Left corner you see the selected conference day

The overview only displays what you have selected in your list: if only favorites are selected – the overview only shows favorites per ex.

In most cases it’s easier to see the content from Overview in landscape format. You can use your fingers to zoom-in or zoom-out

You can tap on a session to see the details

Q: Why should I use a notebook ?

A:BlackBerry 10 comes pre-installed with the Remember APP, where you can create notebooks. The best thing (for me): you can connect Remember with Evernote and sync your notes with your desktop.

Notebooks not only store text – you can add audio, images, video, attachments.

Remember is integrated into Conference2Go: you can add notes to every session you’re attending.

Conference2Go MTC

Since many years I’m attending – and many times also speaking at – MTC: one of the most important conferences for mobile developers in europe.

It’s a pleasure for me to provide the BlackBerry 10 ConferenceApp for this conference.

Conference2Go shows you all the Speaker, Sessions, Workshops, Special Days and Tracks and you can prepare your schedule.

One problem for me at conferences was always that I’m sitting there with my smartphone and want to make some notes to read them later again at home from my Mac. But hand written notes are not easy to manage. So I integrated Remember – BlackBerry 10′s notebook APP – into my Conference2Go APP. I’m selecting a notebook synchronized with Evernote, so all is by magic at my desktop when I’m coming home. Nothing lost ! To make it easy, you can write notes directly from the Session Detail Page, where the Session Title is also your Notebook entry title.

Same with twitter: sometimes you want to tweet about a Speaker – now it’s easy: if the spekaer has given his twitter account name to JAXcon, you can tweet directly from the Speaker Detail Page. Or you can twet from the SessionDetail Page about the Session itself.

To solve the problem to get an overview of “what happens when in which room” I developed the Overview Page with dynamic content created on-the-fly.

these are only some of the highlights.

As all my applications: Conference2Go MTC tries to 100% following the BlackBerry 10 Cascades UI Guidelines to guarantee the BlackBerry 10 Flow experience.

Have fun !

International development of high quality mobile Applications for YOU.

My goal is always to develop high quality apps and to follow the BlackBerry 10 Flow and UI Guidelines, this is why most of my applications are already certified as ‘Built For BlackBerry’.

Some of my apps are only in-house apps – some are available at BlackBerry World – a short description follows. Looking for my apps in BlackBerry World simply search for ‘ekke’ and you should see the following apps:

Conference2Go JAX

Conference App for german developer conferences JAX and W-JAX. Please download and see how fast this app is running: no flicker, immediately switching content, peek back, …

Take a look at Sessions, Workshops, Tracks, Special Days, switch between Conference days.

Try to create your Schedule. (If you connected with a Calendar from ApplicationMenu Settings, then your scheduled Sessions are also added to your Calendar events.)

Take a look at a specific day or switch to see only your favorites, then take a look at ‘Overview’: a dynamic created page with Pinch&Zoom where you see selected Sessions in columns – per – room with vertical timeline.

FourSquare is integrated: easy CheckIn into the Conference from Venue Tab.

BlackBerry Maps are integrated: take a look at Location from Venue Tab.

BBM is integrated. Twitter is integrated: from Sessions or Speaker you can easy tweet about a Session or with a Speaker.

Remember / Evernote is integrated: from Session edit your notes about this session, add Audio, Images, Video and sync to your desktop via Evernote.

From Sessions -> Room or Venue -> Floorplan take a look at the rooms. ImageViewer is integrated to easy zoom-in or out.

Compose Mail to give Feedback. (From ApplicationMenu)

Search for Speakers: fast search while typing.

Q10 ? Keyboard shortcuts are supported: Session -> r to see the Room, Session -> o to get the Overview, SessionList -> f to switch between Favorites / all Sessions, Speaker List -> s to search ….

F A Q (OpenDataSpace)

Here you’ll find the most asked questions HowTo use OpenDataSpace for BlackBerry 10.

You’re missing the Answer to your Question ? Please send your Question to us – we will answer and add here.

Q: What is a Dataspace ?

A: The DataSpace is the complete data you stored at OpenDataSpace (ODS) – compare it with a virtual volume.

Q: What are the DataRooms ?

A: DataRooms are at the root of your data stored at OpenDataSpace.

If you have registered (FREE) for ODS and logged in from your desktop, you’ll get a better overview on the structure then from a small Smartphone screem.

DataRooms are managed “Folders”: you decide who’ll get rights to this.

Important: You cannot store / upload Files directly to the DataSpace – only to DataRooms or SubFolders of DataRooms.

Start ODS and sync with the server: from Tab DataSpace you’ll get a list of your DataRooms – maybe only one Room.

New DataRooms can only be added by the Administrator from the Web, where you also manage all User Rights.

Tap on a DataRoom to see the content.

Q: What is inside a DataRoom ?

A: Inside a DataRoom you’ll find Files, Folders or Subrooms.

  • Files are single Files from different Types like .txt, .doc, .pdf, .png…
  • Folders can be created from the APP: simply click on “Create Folder” at the Bottom ActionBar.
  • SubRooms are like Folders, but they’re managed Folders where the Admin can decide who has access to this SubRoom and can read oder write.

Using a DataRoom with nested SubRooms the Admin can create a tree of managed Folders. (SubRooms have a cloud inside their Folder Icon)

LongPress on a Folder or SubRoom: Info will show you some infos about the hierarchy of selected Folder.

LongPress on a Folder also allows you to rename the Folder.

Q: What can I do with a File from ODS ?

A: Do a LongPress on a File in the list or a single Tap to open the Info Page.

Then you’ll see all the  Menu Options:

  • Share a Link with others via BBM
  • Share a Link with others via Mail
  • Start a BBM Chat to discuss about a File with other users from your ODS.
  • Download the file to view the content.
  • Delete the File.

Q: Where is my downloaded File ?

A: In your list of Files you’ll notice that downloaded Files are now marked with a Downloaded-from-Cloud Icon.

These Files are stored inside the secure Sandbox of your Application. From Infopage or Menu you can “View” the File. View will open the File in standard native File Viewer. Some of the Viewers (like Doc-to-Go) allow you to edit and store the File.

Hint: If you edit the File, the edited copy is stored on your Device or SD Card – depends from the Viewer and where you saved the file.

If you want to send the modified File to the Server you can upload the File (see below) – it’s up to you if you store it under a new name or replace the old one.

Q: How can I upload a File ?

A: At first go to the destination Folder where you want to store the File on your ODS Server. Or create a new Folder.

From Options Menu you have many different choices to select or even to create / capture a File to upload:

  • Select a Document (opens native FilePicker to select a Document from FileSystem)
  • Select / Capture Image (opens native FilePicker to select an Image from FileSystem or to use the Camera to capture an Image)
  • Select / Capture Video (opens native FilePicker to select a Video from FileSystem or to use the Camera to capture a Video)
  • Select Voice (opens native FilePicker to select a captured Audio File from FileSystem)
  • Dictaphone (opens a Dictaphone to record Audio. Store recorded Voice and then select to upload)
  • Select Music (opens native FilePicker to select a Music File from FileSystem)
  • Select Book (opens native FilePicker to select an eBook from FileSystem)
  • Select Other (opens native FilePicker to pick a File from FileSystem)
